We were going over a color-matching demo using paint yesterday when Skyler commented on how the color of the water in the brush basin brought back memories of elementary school. As soon as she said that, an elementary school-aged memory of my own came to mind: I was about 7 or 8 at the time, sitting at the kitchen table drawing on a piece of paper with watercolors. I don’t remember what I was working on, but whatever it was used a lot of orange… At one point my mom stopped by, took the cup of water I was using to clean my brush, and put it back down. We were both surprised– she that it wasn’t orange juice and I that she drank the paint water!
